Getting started in blogging

Simon asked for help in his blog as to how can one write an article. Actually, there's no straight answer to this one as you can always get a writer's block from time to time and never get over with. (I've encountered this lately and had not been able to recover)

However, I suggest that you start writing the moment the idea hits you. Write it first in a notebook if a PC is not immediately accessible to you. One site that really helped me get started in blogging/writing was Shery's DailyWrites lesson. It is free and I suggest you check it out.

I find writing to be therapeutical too in some ways. Lately, I've been a little sad and decided to draw a card in my Writer's Deck. The task given to me is to "write a letter" and express my feelings. I decided to write to my Dad (who already passed away years ago), pour my heart out, and felt relieved a few days later. I'm back to my normal self again.

4th year of Cyberfair

Finally, I was able to update the Philippine Schools Cyberfair website at http://www.cyberfair.ph. I hope that there'll be more schools joining this year as computerization escalates in the secondary school education sub-sector.

It has been quite promising for Cyberfair this year. Web Philippines (http://www.webphilippines.com) has remained an active supporter of the project and hosted its website for the past 3 years.

Jason Banico's TribungPinoy.com is offering free web hosting service to all entries. I hope their facility will be up soon so I can announce it to members.

More importantly, TechFactor of Jimmy Caro is offering e-learning prizes to schools and teachers. TechFactor is like the local version of Jumpstart educational CDs.

Roosevelt College will once again host our 5-days IT summer camp for teachers this April. This is where we train winners of the Philippine Schools Cyberfair.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope that this year will be a great one.
